Urgent (and probably basic) Math problem for Design work.
Hello

I am a graphic designer who is ridiculously bad at Math.

I need some help with a problem for a 3D piece I'm trying to complete. Its about how long it would take me to drink my body weight in Pepsi Max. (Sounds crazy I know lol). I have a bit of an addiction to it and drink a lot of it...

So...

The 3D piece is 12 stones/rocks - (in the UK we measure our weight in lbs and stones).

I weigh 12 stones, so the stones (or rocks) for my 3D piece represent my weight.
So...

There are 14lbs in a stone.

A 2 litre bottle of Pepsi Max weighs approx 4.5lbs.

I roughly drink 2 litres a day.

I need to know the following...

- How many days based on my approximates it would take me to drink my body weight.
- then I need it divided into 12 because Im writing how long it would take me to drink a stone in weight on each of the rocks. - So I would need to know both how long it would take me to drink my body weight (12 stone) and how long it would take me to drink 1 stone.

I hope this makes sense lol. Thanks to anyone who can help :)

Hello!

First let me denote W your weight in lbs

If you drink 2 liters per day and a 2 liter bottle of Pepsi Max weighs approx 4.5lbs then you got the following ratio:

$\frac{4.5lbs}{1(day)} = \frac{W}{x(days)}$

Just substitute your weight in lbs for W and solve the ratio for x, and you will find how many days you need to drink your own body weight (Rofl)

You are 12 stone. There are 14 pounds in a stone, therefore you are 12 x 14 pounds, which is 168 pounds. There are 4.5 pounds of coke in a 2 litre bottle, and you drink 2 in a day, so you drink 9 pounds in a day.

So you drink 9 pounds every day, and your target is 168 pounds... so you'd have to drink for 168/9 = 18 days and 2 thirds, so 18 days and 16 hours.

If your target is 1 stone, which is 14 pounds, then you'd have to drink 2 bottles every day for 14/9 days = 1.5556 days, which is roughly 1 day 13 hours and 20 minutes.
