Can you explain, and answer these Questions?

1. The Sum of Kris and Victor's age is 27 years. In three years, Victor will be twice as old as kris will be. What are their present age?

2. Bill is twice as old as his brother Dan. 12 years ago, Bill was 8 times as old as Dan was. How old is Bill now?

2. Q1. Let x be Kris's age now and y be Victor's age now. Write two equations and solve them simultaneously.
Q2. Same idea

This isn't how we help here at MHF. The poster is trying to walk you through this problem which is way more helpful than a simple answer. You need to show effort to get more help or ask questions about the suggestion.

5. MAN

man why u getting all mad , and after me anyways heres how i did it..PS: I did not say to SIMPLY ANSWER this cause the answer is Kris age is 8 and victor is 19.....but i want to know how to do it not THE Answer.

Here is me trying it pretty lame D:.
x= Kris
y=victor

1. 1x+2y+6=27
1x+2y= 27-6
3xy= 21
xy= 7

Question 1:

x + y = 27 .... (1)

In 3 years time, x --> x + 3 and y --> y + 3. Therefore:

y + 3 = 2(x + 3) => y + 3 = 2x + 6 => 2x - y = -3 .... (2)

Solve equations (1) and (2) simultaneously.

Now you try question 2.

x= Kris' age y= Victor's age
x+y=27 y=2(x+3)

Bills age= B
Dans age=D
2d=b b-12=d8

y=2(x+3) Mr F says: This equation is not correct. See my earlier reply.
