1. ## Logrithm Problem

Hey guys,

I've solved these question, but about three times each with a different answer each time :S so if someone could kindly work these out I'd be very happy. Here they are:

Solve each of the equations given below.

a) 4^(x + 3) = 6 ^(x - 2)

b) log base 5 X/125 = log base 7 (49x^3)

a) $(x+3)\,ln(4) = (x-2)\,ln(6)$. Expand and solve for x

$(x+3)ln(4)=(x-2)ln(6)$

$xln(4)+3ln(4)=xln(6)-2ln(6)$

$xln(4)-xln(6)=-3ln(4)-2ln(6)$

$x=\frac{-3ln(4)-l2n(6)}{ln(4)-ln(6)}$

b) log base 5 X/125 = log base 7 (49x^3)
