    Unhappy I can't solve this rational equation

    5x
    --------- = 0
    x^2 - 49

    The numerator of a rational equation can NEVER be equal to zero. Therefore, for your function to be equal to zero, it must be the denominator which is zero.

    Therefore, you can reduce your equation to just this:

     5x = 0 , for which the solution is obvious.
