Write 60 + 3 + 7/10 as a decimal ?

Simplify 7b x 3c ?

Simplify b2 x 5b2 ?

Factorise 5m + 30 ?

Simplify 3k/5 + k/5 ?

The prices of the five cars in Honest John's car sales yard are:
$10 000,$5900, $9999,$12 500, $3499 Calculate the mean price ? Find the median of the scores: 1, 3, 1, 19, 8 ? And can you tell me how they are done ? 2. To find the mean of the prices of the car you would just add up your prices then divide them by the amount of number you had. For example. 20, 15, 30, 18, 22 You would add them up = 105 than divide by 5 because you have five original numbers. So your mean = 21 To find the median just put your numbers in numerical order and then cross of the end numbers until you get to the middle number. Like if you were given 8 19 20 6 15 put them in order 20 19 (15) 8 6 15 is your median. there are five numbers in this set, odd right? well Sometimes though you are given a set number set that equals even So if you had to find the median of 8 16 4 6 27 12, put them in order 27, 16, (12, 8), 6, 4 You have two middle numbers, if this happens, Add them and then always divide by 2. So the median for this set would be 10. Sorry I can't explain the other stuff 3. Hi there... Here's the solution: 60 + 3 + 7/10 = 60 + 3 + 0.7 = 63.7 (in this case, 7/10 is a fraction, it can be converted into a decimal simply by 7 divided by 10 which gives u a decimal form of 0.7) 7b x 3c = (7 x 3) x (b x c) =21bc (in this case, we can treat the whole numbers 7 and 3 as one group and treat the unknowns b and c as the other group, when we do mulitplication, we can do them separately which is 7x3 = 21; b x c = bc. In algebra, whenever we are dealing with unknown variables such as a, b, c, etc, when we are multiplying them, we will forgo the multiply sign. For example, a x b x c = abc.) b2 x 5b2 = 5 x (b2 X b2) =5 x b(2+2) =5b4 (this case is rather similar to previous case, we group the numbers into 2 groups. for the unknown term of b, as it is in exponential form, the multiplication is slightly different. Instead of the multiplying them as shown in the above example, we will add them as shown in the answer. however, the addition only applies to like terms. in the case of unlike terms such as, b2 x 5b2c2 = 5 x b(2+2) x c2 = 5b4c2.) Expand 3 (6 +k) =(3x6) + (3xk) =18 + 3k (this is the typical case of expansion and factorise. whenever we expand a term within a bracket (), we will apply multiplication. ) Factorise 5m + 30 = 5 (m+6) (for factorisation case, we will first identify common factor. Common factor are term that can be divisible by both the term. For example 30 is divisible by 5 which means 30/5=6. So based on the above expansion example, we know that when we expand a bracket, we have to apply multiplication, now when we factorise, it is the reverse, we have ti apply division.) Simplify 3k/5 + k/5 =4k/5 (in this case, we apply the same concept of adding fraction, for like terms, we will simply add them up together as show above, for unlike terms such as 3k/5 + k/5 + j/4 = 4k/5 + j/4; we cant add them up as usual.) The prices of the five cars in Honest John's car sales yard are:$10 000, $5900,$9999, $12 500,$3499
Calculate the mean price ?

The word "mean" refers to average, so to find the mean of the prices, we simply take the average of the 5 different prices.
mean = ($10 000 +$5 900 +$9 999 +$12 500 +$3 499)/5 =$8 379.60

Find the median of the scores: 1, 3, 1, 19, 8
(Median will refer to the middle term of the set. In this case, we will first have to sort the whole set in order, which is 1, 1, 3, 8, 19. So the middle term of this set will 3. This is the case of an odd series. But in the case of an even series, the median will be the average of the middle terms. For example, 1, 1, 3, 8, 19, 21. The middle terms will be 3 and 8. So the median will be average of these two numbers. Median = (3+8)/2 = 5.5)
