Okay to find the gradient of a given line - am i correct in saying first you need to find out if its a linear equation? y = mx+c ?

if so than if i have y= 3x+12
is 3 the gradient?

also in 2y - 6x = 2 - how do i find the gradient? i know that i need to make y the subject is that correct? if so can some one help me with doing that?

you are correct .

2y=6x+2

y=3x+1

so the gradient is 3.
