Symmetrical Functions

Can someone explain the symmetry of functions when there odd, even or neither..

Please give me examples so I can understand this..

I kind of get that even means symmetrical in the y axis. For odd it means symmetrical about the origin and I believe neither functions are not symetrical..

does that seem right or no?
