Thread: Percent word problem help

Ms. Grace is buying a car with a sticker price of $23,874.Her total discount is 12% How much will she pay for the car?


Now im trying to figure this out using the amount,base, and rate method but I can't seem to get a right answer, can some one give me some details on how would I break this problem down?

she will pay 88% of $23874

that doesn't help at all of course she paying 88% but i need to figure out how much will she pay in total after subtracting the 12%, well i need the break down
