me= $x$

$\frac{2x}{4}-4=10$

Simplify: $\frac{x}{2}-4=10$

Add 4 to both sides: $\frac{x}{2}=14$

Multiply both sides by 2: $x=28$

1. x/4*2-4=10
x/2-4=10
x/2=14
x=28 (it is 28)

2. x/2+4=9
x/2=5
x=10 kilograms

3. unknown quantity is x ounces
6+x=3x
2x=6
x = 3
