# Thread: I Got A Few More Algebra Word Questions

1. ## I Got A Few More Algebra Word Questions

1. Divide me by four, then multiply what you get by two, then subtract 4, and you will have 10. Who am I?

2. Divide a certain number of kilograms by 2, and then add four more kilograms. The result will be 9000 grams. How many kilograms did you start with?

3. Six ounces plus an unknown quantity of ounces is equal to three times the unknown quantity of ounces. Discover what it is.

Thanks for your time guys, I am bad at developing the formula from word problems so seeing how you do it really helps.

me= $x$

$\frac{2x}{4}-4=10$

Simplify: $\frac{x}{2}-4=10$

Add 4 to both sides: $\frac{x}{2}=14$

Multiply both sides by 2: $x=28$

3. I cadisregard i didem! thx though
