1. ## Can someone please check these 4 basic algebra problems?

I have four homework questions that I would like someone to check. I have a bad feeling about it (algebra and I do not get along) but I had to try!

4x-(x+6)=5(3x-1)+8

5(d+4)=7(d-2)

1/2+4m=3m-5/2
(This is one over two plus 4m equals 3m minus five over two, if it's hard to tell)

2(7-x)-20=7x-3(2+3x)

Please pay attention to signs so we're not both wrong. Just need to know which (if any) are correct and which are not. If you could also please tell me where I want wrong that would be nice, but if not that's okay.

Thanks.

2. 4x-(x+6)=5(3x-1)+8

INCORRECT, x=-4

5(d+4)=7(d-2)

CORRECT

1/2+4m=3m-5/2
(This is one over two plus 4m equals 3m minus five over two, if it's hard to tell)

INCORRECT, m=-3

2(7-x)-20=7x-3(2+3x)

CORRECT

(If I am correct, please thank me )

3. Oh dear. I'm getting mixed answers on different sites. Someone else to me first was wrong, second and third were right, and fourth was wrong. They also gave me different answers.

Not sure what to do?

4. $4x-(x+6)=5(3x-1)+8$

$4x-x-6 = 15x-5+8$

$3x-6 = 15x+3$

$-12x = 9$

$x=\frac{-9}{12}$

Answer: $x=\frac{-3}{4}$

$5(d+4)=7(d-2)$

$5d+20=7d-14$

$-2d=-34$

Answer: $d=17$

$\frac{1}{2}+4m=3m-\frac{5}{2}$

$\frac{1}{2}+4m=3m-\frac{5}{2}$

$1+8m=6m-5$

$2m=-6$

Answer: $m=-3$

$2(7-x)-20=7x-3(2+3x)$

$14-2x-20=7x-6-9x$

$-2x-6=-2x-6$

$0x=0$

For this one, answer is all set of real values.

To check, simply substitute the values of x to the equation.
