    Solve and Find T,

    \frac{Tcos40}{8+Tsin40}=\frac{2}{5}

    T=6.29(3sf)

    Please show each step of working!

    Million thanks!

    \frac{T\cos40}{8+T\sin40}=\frac{2}{5}

    \Rightarrow 5T\cos40=2(8+T\sin40)

    =16+2T\sin40

    \Rightarrow 5T\cos40-2T\sin40 =16

    \Rightarrow T(5\cos40-2\sin40)=16

    \Rightarrow T = \frac{16}{5\cos40-2\sin40}

    =6.29 (3 s.f.)
