Rearranging Equation

Solve and Find T,

$\frac{Tcos40}{8+Tsin40}=\frac{2}{5}$

T=6.29(3sf)

Please show each step of working!

$\frac{T\cos40}{8+T\sin40}=\frac{2}{5}$

$\Rightarrow 5T\cos40=2(8+T\sin40)$

$=16+2T\sin40$

$\Rightarrow 5T\cos40-2T\sin40 =16$

$\Rightarrow T(5\cos40-2\sin40)=16$

$\Rightarrow T = \frac{16}{5\cos40-2\sin40}$

$=6.29$ (3 s.f.)
