1. Help needed on function question

Is it possible to express f(x)=.sqrt(x^2/4 ) in terms of f(x)= x/2? If yes, what is the relation? If no, why is it not possible?

The equation
$\sqrt{\frac{x^2}{4}}=$

$\frac{\sqrt{x^2}}{\sqrt{4}}=$

$\frac{|x|}{2}$

$\mbox{In otherwords all the values are the same between the two equations except }x<0$
$\mbox{Can you take it from here?}$

3. so how do i actually respond to the question? is it a "yes to a certain extent" anwser or "no, because you cant express it directly"

The first part of the question is answered "no". The second part of the questions is answered "because ....." (the dots are for you to fill in).
