    Factorisation

    Hey,

    Can anyone explain to me how to factorise

    xa-2bx+ya-2yb

    or a answer will do so i can try to firgure out myself how to get the answer

    xa-2bx+ya-2yb, let's pull an x out of the first two terms and a y out of the second two terms

    =x(a-2b)+y(a-2b), now we can factor (a-2b) from both terms

    =(a-2b)(x+y)
