    Are you sure this is right? The denominator looks kinda funny.

    \frac{\frac{k}{2}-\frac{k}{6}}{\frac{k}{2}+\frac{k}{2}}=\frac{\frac{  3k-k}{6}}{\frac{2k}{2}}=\frac{\frac{2k}{6}}{k}=\frac{  \frac{k}{3}}{k}=\frac{k}{3}\cdot \frac{1}{k}=\frac{1}{3}
