    word problem help

At a concession stand at a high school football game, the owner notices that the relationship between the cost of a hotdog and the number of hotdogs sold is linear. If the price is $1.00 per hotdog, then 650 hot dogs are sold each night. If the cost is $1.50 per hotdog, then only 475 are sold each night.

    1. Write the given information as points in the form (cost per hotdog, quantity sold).
    2. Write a linear equation that passes through these two points.
    3. Use your equation to predict the number of hotdogs that would sell if the price changed to $1.70 per hotdog.

    2nd question.
Given n(x)= square root 18-6x State domain and range of graph using interval notation. Then state whether the graph is a function.

So, what are you having trouble with here?

    Plotting the points?
    Writing the equation?

    What?

Have you made any attempt at the question? Where are you getting stuck and what have you tried?

I wouldn't use online fourms if I didn't try if needed help..

    1. Write the given information as points in the form (cost per hotdog, quantity sold).

This seems plain and simple, cost, quantity.

    2. Write a linear equation that passes through these two points.

I am lost how to answer.

    3. Use your equation to predict the number of hotdogs that would sell if the price changed to $1.70 per hotdog.

    I can't do 3 without understanding 2.

    2nd question.
Given n(x)= square root 18-6x State domain and range of graph using interval notation. Then state whether the graph is a function.

    I am also lost.

So in the end, we are pretty much back to step 1....
