    Exponential Equations

    2^x+2 - 2^x =48

    ***NOTE*** THE + 2 IS ALSO ON THE EXPONENT!!!

    So many things run through my head when I think about this? Can any of you break this down for me? Mucho appreciation guys!

    The answer is 4 btw.

    2^{x+2} - 2^x =48

    Using index laws

    2^{x}2^{2} - 2^x =48

    Now factoring

    2^{x}(2^{2} -1) =48

    2^{x}(4 -1) =48

    3\times 2^{x} =48
