$\displaystyle 2^{x+2} - 2^x =48$ Using index laws $\displaystyle 2^{x}2^{2} - 2^x =48$ Now factoring $\displaystyle 2^{x}(2^{2} -1) =48$ $\displaystyle 2^{x}(4 -1) =48$ $\displaystyle 3\times 2^{x} =48$ You got it from here?
