The earth's diameter is about 13,000 km. If a globe has a diameter of 0.5 m write the globe scale as a ratio. What distance on earth would 1 centimeter on the globe represent? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The ratio is 13000km:0.5m Convert to one unit of measurement, we shall use centimeters So multiply by 1,300,000,000cm:500cm Divide both sides by 500 to get it down to 1cm 2,600,000cm:1cm So one cm on the globe represents 26km on the earth
I-Think, thanks so much for the help. I was forgetting to convert the m to cm. Great explanation as well
