    Algebra Help Please?

    I'm finishing intermediate algebra in college online and have come across a couple problems that I can't seem to understand....
    The first is:
    Two angles are complimentary. The sum of the 1st angle and half the second angle is 75.5 degrees. Find the measures of the angles.
    The measure of the smaller angle is:
    The measure of the other angle is:

    The second problem is:
    Hockey teams receive 2 points when they win and 1 point when they tie. One season, a team won a championship with 54 points. They won 12 more games than they tied. How many wins and how many ties did the team have?

    1st question:
    Do you know the meaning of "complementary angle"?

    2nd question:
    Let :
    the number of games won = x
    the number of games tied = y

    "They won 12 more games than they tied" means that .......
    "Hockey teams receive 2 points when they win and 1 point when they tie. One season, a team won a championship with 54 points" means that ....

    This should be all you need to understand the this:

    Definition:Complementary - ProofWiki

    Pay attention to the "linguistic note" at the bottom - I hate to be a quibbling pedant but you may find you get taken less seriously if you use "compliment" for "complement".
