describe geometrically the transformation that maps the graph of $y = x^2$ onto the graph of $y = x^2 - 4x +1$ and could you show how you figured it out if possible,

$y = x^2 - 4x +1 = (x-2)^2-3$

Try to figure out what transformation is involved from $y = x^2$ onto $y = (x-2)^2$ then to $y = (x-2)^2-3$
