    transformation

    hi,

    could someone please show me how you would go about answering the question:

    describe geometrically the transformation that maps the graph of y = x^2 onto the graph of y = x^2 - 4x +1 and could you show how you figured it out if possible,
    thankyou,

    Mark

    Hi

    y = x^2 - 4x +1 = (x-2)^2-3

    Try to figure out what transformation is involved from y = x^2 onto y = (x-2)^2 then to y = (x-2)^2-3
