Tax Please help!
Ok heres a identical question i have except I used easy numbers.(I need to know how to figure this out so please explain as well as you can).

hamburger at 1.00 (including tax)

The tax rate is 10%

How much does the hamburger cost w/ out tax?

Call the cost of the hamburger without tax, "X". The tax is 10% of that or (0.1)X. Adding the tax to the cost gives X+ 0.1X= 1.01X= 1.00. Now divide both sides by 1.01 to get X.

ThankS HALLS OF IVERY!!! It took me a while to understand im such a retard lolz and pickslides your way worked too but you diddnt explain at all, so it would work on this problem but I wouldnt have been able to do my home work.
