    What is a non permissible value?

    The question on me sheet is:

    Determine the non-permissible values for y=f(x)= x-2
    .................................................. .... 6X^2-13x-5

    please help

    non-permissible values of x would be those that make the denominator of the rational expression equal 0.

    6x^2 - 13x - 5 = 0

    solve for x to determine them.

    i got 6X^2=5/-13 but i dont know what to do next.




    Also in a unrelated question.

    in the translation y=1/x to y=1/X-3 +4 is the translation 3 right and 4 up?
