Solve the inequality (4-2x) / (x+5) <= 2 is this correct?? 4 - 2x <= 2(x + 5) 4 - 2x <= 2x + 10 4 <= 4x + 10 -6 <= 4x -6/4 <= x x => -3/2

That is correct.
ok thanks
that is not correct! for example number -6 also solves the inequality but isn't contained in your result. first step is wrong. you have to distinguish cases x>= -5 and x< -5.
oh ok so should my answer be x<5, x=>-3/2
answer should be: $\displaystyle x< -5$ or $\displaystyle x \ge -\frac{3}{2}$
ok awesome thats what i ment to right forgot the negative in front of the 5 thanks heaps
