    Fun Problem

    Consider a member of the Olympic shooting team who is shooting clay pigeons and a member of the Olympic diving team. Each is competing for a score. Who is conducting a sequence of Bernoulli trials?

    a. neither
    b. the diver
    c. the shooter
    d. both

    That depends on what outcome you are interested in. For Bernoulli trials, the only possible outcomes are "success" and "failure". In addition, the success probability must be the same for all trials.

    So the clay pigeon shooter is conducting Bernoulli trials. The diver ... not if she is actually interested in the numerical score, which is more complicated than just a "success/failure" situation.
