Does this data substantiate the law enforcement officers’ claim at a 5% level of significance (i.e., alpha=0.05)? [8 points]

since the 96 robberies is more than 30, I would use the z test. the z test requires a standard deviation. am i looking at this wrong?

H1: p > 0.40 (claim)
alpha = 0.05
critical value = 1.65
p-hat = 40/96 = 0.416
p = 0.40
q = 0.60
z = (p-hat - p)/sqr(pq/n) = (0.416 - 0.4)/sqr(0.40*0.60/96) = 0.33

0.33 < 1.65
