# Thread: What am I doing wrong here?

1. ## What am I doing wrong here?

I've attached a PDF of the problem worked out by my professor. I still cannot figure out, even with the work shown, what I am doing wrong. It's sort of sad and I'm losing my mind here lol

Where it says P(X=4)=C(6,4)(.6)^4(.4)6-4
I'm putting this into the calculator as:
(.6)^4 x (.4)^2 and am NOT getting .311

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks guys...!

2. .31104
I have no idea what you're doing
6 choose 4 is 15
My advice is to do it by 'hand', less calculator

3. I know, it's written out next to the equation...why am I not getting that? How did you put it into the calculator?

4. 15 times (.6)^4 times (.4)^2
are you leaving out the 15???
You don't show any work, so I cannot give you any partial credit,
same story as in my class

5. Wowww...I totally forgot to get 6!/4! x 2

I just went straight to the (.6)^4 x (.4)^2

Thank you so much. I'm studying for a final so it's been a while since I've looked at this stuff...

thanks again
