    hypothesis testing

the proportion of defects is claimed to be reduced by the newer production process known as Plan B. a random sample of the old method (plan A) consisted of n = 250 and 27 defects. a random sample of n = 200 from plan B contained 17 defects. using p-value approach and the .01 level of significance, tets to see whether or not this claim is valid.
