    distribution of data

State which distribution you would expect the data to be modelled by and justify this excuse.

    a. number of accidents requiring hospital treatment, for an individual in the last 10 years.

Hi, i have been trying to work this out for ages, my best guess is the poisson distribution, but to be honest I dont know, can anyone help?

Yes. The number of events in a time period \tau for events which are random in time has a Poisson distribution with mean \tau \rho where \rho is the rate of events.
