    probability distribution

    A random variable of a normal distribution with a mean of 24.4 and a variance of 3.24 . Find the value of k such that P ( k < X < 28.81 ) = 0.3043

    Pr(k < X < 28.81) = Pr(X < 28.81) - Pr(X < k).

    I assume you can calculate Pr(X < 28.81). So your problem reduces to find k such that Pr(X < k) = 0.688557.

    I'm sure you've met and know how to deal with this sort of problem.
