    statistics question

    It is claimed that a particular training course will increase the sales of insurance sales persons by an extra 5 policies per week. A company sends 8 randomly selected sales persons to attend the course. The weekly sales of these people before and after the course are listed below. Does the sample data support the claim? Assume a=0.10.

    sales person sales before sales after
    1 28 35
    2 30 36
    3 35 40
    4 42 52
    5 37 39
    6 38 49
    7 39 53
    8 34 38

    Use a paired t-test.

    I think we have to use the Neyman-Pearson Lemma to solve it
