    Distribution theory

    Find the value of X where X is a random variable which follows a noncentral chi square distribution with n degrees of freedom and noncentrality parameter "delta"

    Does this help?

    I'm not sure what "Find the value of X ..." means ..... The distribution for X is given, but I assume "Find the value of X ..." means that something has to be done with this distribution ..... It's not clear to me what that something is ......

    Do you mean Find the expected value of X .... ?

    Sorry the question should read:

    Find the expected value of X where X is a random variable which follows a noncentral chi square distribution with n degrees of freedom and noncentrality parameter "delta"
