Thread: probability density functions

i have the prob density function 1-(x/4) between 1 and 3...

i need to work out the median but the values i get are completly wrong, would anyone post the answer and how you get it??? i get like 7.1.. this is really urgent TIA!!!

You must solve , where a is the median value .....

I get as the only value lying in the interval [1, 3].
