hey, I have not done this for a couple years and cannot quite recall how to handle a problem like this.
An unbiased six-sided die is successively rolled as many times as needed. Let X be the total number of rolls until the first “six” is obtained.
What is E(X)?
can someone refresh my memory. I know expectation is just the mean if you did it an infinite number of times, however as close as the answer appears in my mind, I cannot quite recall it.
Thanks
