How to set up problem for random variables????

A number is chosen at random from the interval (0,3). A second number is chosen independently and at random from the interval (0,4). What is the eightieth percentile of the sum of the two numbers?
I am very confused as to where I even begin with this problem. Would X=1/3 and Y=1/4?

    Interval(x,y) means x+1, x+2, ..., y-1
    As example, interval(0,7) = 1,2,3,4,5,6

    On percentiles, explained here:
