a fair coin is tossed until a head is obtained
a) find the expected value of the number of tosses required.
b) what is the expected value of the number of heads tossed.


i think part a is E(X)= 1/P = 1/0.5 = 2

Unless you've made a typo, the answer to part b) is a simple one:

You're flipping a coin until you get a head, then you stop?
Every time you do this experiment, you'll get exactly one head. The answer is one.
