## Political Candiate Smaple size Question

A simple Random sample is to be chosen from a population in a particular
district of size N = 500 to estimate the proportion in favour of a particular political candiate. Calculate the proportion size necessary to measure that the estimator is within 10% of the true proportion with 95% confidence?

N= 500 max(pq) = 0.25 < since were not given them we use that.

Formula = $z^2 * pq / e^2$

$
(1.96)^2 * 0.25/0.10^2$

$3.841 x 25 = 96.025$

correction $no = no/1+no/N$

$96/ 1+96/500 = 80.5$
