tricky anova question
Please see attached excel file
set up an analysis of variance for the following crop yield (per Acre) for three varieties of maize, each grown on 4 plots and state if variety differences are significant.
note: this is one way anova
any help appreciated
I have been trying in vain to attach an Excel macro I use for these pesky stats problems. Anyway, I get a p-value of 0.274. Which means we have a "DO NOT REJECT H0". Assuming a max alpha level of .10. That's as high as I usually go.
There is not enough evidence to conclude that there is a difference in the means.
Most good calculators do ANOVA test. Even the TI-83. Run your data through that.
Here is a screen capture from my TI-92. The formulas for these things are cumbersome. Surely, you don't have one of those anachronistic teachers who insists, in this day and age, on doing these things by hand. If you do, tell them I said to put their slide rule away and come into the 21st century.
