What is the distribution of this RV?

The cfd of X is the following:

$F(X)= \begin{cases}0 & \text{if } x < 0\\\frac{x}{8}& \text{if } 0 \leq x < 1&\frac{1}{4} + \frac{x}{8} &\text{if } 1 \leq x < 2&\frac{3}{4} + \frac{x}{12} &\text{if } 2 \leq x < 3& 1 &\text{if } x \geq 3\end{cases}$

Mixed ? $P(X=1) = \frac{2}{8}$ , $P(X=2) = \frac{5}{12}$ and it is continous on the interval (1,2)?

Hey Jame.

It looks a bit like a mixed uniform. Have you come across this (i.e something like say U = X + Y + Z for uniformly distributed variables X,Y,Z)?
