Confidence interval question please help

I know what to do for (A) but i have no idea what (B) is asking me... can anyone enlighten me??? BTW the interval and the answer that I got for (A) is (223.98, 224.03).. I interpret this by saying that we are 90% confident that the interval from 223.96 to 224.03 captures the true mean dimension in millimeters

from what i know the sample mean is essentially the same thing as the point estimate..... so the sample mean must be 224

No that is the population mean: Did you calculate the sample mean from your set of observations? Is this number different from the quoted population mean?

Oh yes the sample mean is 224.56, so yes it's different and it's higher than the population by .56, so it drifted??????

Yes it would seem that its drifting to the right.
