I need to evaluate the effectiveness of three therapists’ work in dealing withpatients with alcohol dependency. I need to design a one-way ANOVA to evaluate this. Assume each therapist has used the sametreatment methodology in the same number of sessions and has seen 10clients. Design such a study and answerthe following specifics in that design.

1. Why would a one-way ANOVA be an appropriatestatistical method for the study? List 2reasons.
2. What statistical result will be developedthrough the ANOVA to measure the difference?
3. Based on the information given to you, what mightyou specifically measure in the study to assess the efficacy of the
treatment?

An Anova would be a good test as it can be used when you have more than 2 samples.

You really need to decide on the metirc being measured. Is it the amount of successful clients or maybe the mean time taken to become independent of alcohol?
