    Another joint density problem

    it seems that i cant understand the boundaries...
    the joint density function:

    f(u,v)= a , u^2 <= v <= 1
    0 , else

    find a

    i just don't know how to start.
    any help ?
    thx

    Make a sketch. Two-dimensional, with u and v as axes. Try to find the region where f(u,v)=a.
    What do you know about the integral over the function over the whole plane? Hint: Scaling of your function.
