    Mann Whitney Test.

Can someone please help me with the below question? I really dont understand how to do it, we have not been through this at uni yet. Please explain it in idiots terms as I just dont get maths, step by step instructions would be very welcome .

Choose a 20 year period for which you have relatively full data for BOTH your locations. Use the Mann-Whitney test to investigate whether there is a difference between the maximum daily temperature in these two locations, by examining whether or not there is a statistically significant difference in the medians.

    Thank you

Then I suggest that you wait until after you have been taught the necessary theory at uni before attempting this question. Alternatively, your textbook will have examples to follow and I'm sure a serach engine will turn up many pages containing appropriate examples. It is not the purpose of MHF to provide 'in-advance' lecturing.
