    Permutation and Combination

    Can anyone derive the following:

'n' identical things are distributed among 'r' persons. The formula for this is C(n-r+1,r-1). How do you derive this ?

    Thanks

You start small, derive a conjecture, attempt to prove your conjecture, expand your small start, improve your theory, and on and on and on...

    It's called INVESTIGATION!

Alternatively, the OP could make Google his/her friend. (It's called research!).
