simple random sampling- E(X)
What does the terminology

E(Xi) = u(i=1,...,n)

mean?

Where u is mu (the mean of all the values for x.)

I haven't seen this terminology before...does it imply u times all the i's?

We will need the rest of the context to be sure but assuming that $X_i,\ i=1,..n$ denotes a random sample from the some population with mean $\mu$ then the expectation of each of the $X_i$'s is $\mu$.
