    Microsoft excel and normal distribution

    I have generated various values for a normal distribution in excel. I know need to evaluate E(X-a)^2 for various values of a.

    how do i do this in excel? Do i simply have a column with x-a, and then square this and take the square root?

    There is no direct way in MS Excel to get expectations of Normal distribution.
