I just love the amount that publishers want to charge for one-off copies of PDFs of journal papers

Last time I had to buy a copy I was charged $21 for a half page from SIAM Review!

I was surprised that the first thing in google was a paper of mine from 93.
I didn't think anyone read my crap.
I always considered myself the Kilgore Trout of probability.
Sandor Csorgo, passed away two years ago, sadly.
He was so kind, in one paper to referenced nine of my papers.
I was really proud of that.
Talking about charging, lately I've had to pay page proofs.
One colleague was charged over 500 Euro last year for that.

... I should have added that it was a piece of crap and one day I may well write a paper explaining why, which of course will never be accepted for publication (particularly by SIAM Review who seem to have a downer on papers critical of stuff they have published, and by implication the very poor job that their peer reviewers and editors can do).

It is a way they can bleed funds out of a research grant (since a grant will cover such), but effectively blocking publication by those without such support.

I don't like to download unknown files.
But I finally went ahead and did so.
But I cannot find page 27
I see pages 161-285, I looked at chapter 27, but I couldn't find the inequality.
And even though it's not in English I can understand most of these theorems.
I may just open up Chow-Teicher and figure out what you're asking.

Well, I don't have any grants.
I used to have small ones, but they're gone.
I've been charged several times.
Usually my chair paid the fees, since they are decent journals.
But the last time, I was stuck with the bill.
That was annoying.
