Thread: Significance Tests of the Regression Model.

I don't get how you figure out if any of the predictors are significant or why. How do you come up with the alpha figures? Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!

That's exactly what I'm confused about!

Answer:

3 predictors, 15 observations, ŷ = 657.053 + 5.7103x1 − 0.4169x2 − 3.4715x3, F = 8.96 with p = .0027, x1 signifcant at α = .01, x3 signifcant at α = .05

So the P value for x1 is less than .01 and the P value for x3 is less than .05.. but where did those preferred level of significance come from?

There's usually an implicit assumption that you make decisions at a .95 significance level.
