Event probability factors
Hey everyone, I'm trying to analyze some data and find the probability of an event occurring for an item based on the weight of several metrics.
So to do this, I'm studying sets of data in the past where I have the exact metrics for a list of items and the result (whether the event occurred or not for each item). First, I want to find out which metrics are significant in causing the event to happen. Then, I would like to develop a weighting for the metrics so I can rank the probabilities of the event occurring for a list of items now.
What would be the best statistical method to accomplish this and what program should I use? Please let me know if you would like more details. Thanks!
