nope, this does not make sense

I have no idea what x- and x+ are.

But that is not a valid density

$\displaystyle \int_{-\infty}^{\infty}f(x)dx=1$ and $\displaystyle E(X)=\int_{-\infty}^{\infty}xf(x)dx$

where as $\displaystyle \int_0^2(2x+3)dx=10$
