Is it worth using Dirichlet processes in estimating densities distributions ?
Hello , I am from computer science field and i am preparing my PhD thesis in indoor geo location using the RSS(received signal strength) of wifi signals, am interested in estimating the received signals strength densities.
We used a probabilistic approach to model the RSS since the wifi signals are subject to reflexion and refraction in an indoor environment.
I found out that , the RSS of signals are not distributed according to a Gaussian, I heard that Dirichlet processes can estimate densities functions.
is it worth using these processes to estimate the RSS densities ?
Can anyone advise me on a good introduction to Dirichlet processes and their applications .
